Obituary of David Milligan

David G. Milligan, 68, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Lee (Carpenter) Milligan, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. Born August 11, 1942, in Central Falls, RI, son of the late William L. and Eva (Caldwell) Milligan he had lived in Glastonbury, CT since 1965. Prior to his retirement in 2003, he was an engineer and project manager for Alstom Power (formerly Combustion Engineering) in Windsor, CT for 37 years. Dave received his BS from the University of Rhode Island and his Masters in Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He was a member of the John Tom Hill Community Club, St. James Episcopal Church, the Hartford Dance Association, and was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Dave loved the ocean, and spent many years boating with his family, fishing and digging for quahogs. Besides his wife, Dave is survived by his children and their spouses; Ted Milligan of Washington, DC, Scott and Jasmine Milligan of Old Lyme, Daniel and Bridget Milligan of Townsend, MA, Amy and Chris Bush of Hebron, his sister, Marilyn Lincoln, of Lincoln, RI, two grandchildren Claire Elizabeth Bush and Ryan David Bush as well as a large loving extended family. He was predeceased by his brother William L. Milligan, Jr. and his sister Audrey Hopper. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT on Thursday April 7 from 5-8pm. A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, April 8, at 11am at St. James Episcopal Church, 2584 Main St., Glastonbury, CT. A reception will follow at the John Tom Hill Community Club, 159 Marlborough Rd., Glastonbury, CT.
