How sad we are to hear that Dave has passed away. We remember him as a friend for many years when we lived in Glastonbury when our children were younger. Special memories included many Cub and Boy Scout events when our son and Ted and Scott were in the same troops. We also shared boating activities together and visits in the summer when the Milligan family vacationed on Nantucket and we would come over from Cape Cod. He was a wonderful father and friend to all and will surely be missed.

Linda and I were deeply saddened to hear about Dave. We saw him at our 50th reunion last September and enjoyed talking with him. I knew David for 60 years having been his neighbor and playmate in Saylesville from the second grade on. We were lucky enough to have been driven to Hope High School every day for three years by Senator William Davies whose son also went with us to Hope. We laughed recently about the day we bunked school and suddenly ran into his father. There were many more funny stories about those days and are all part of our happy memories of a talented and fine man. Glenn and Linda Cummings Laxton

To Lee and family, Dave was a good friend and a catalyst for having a great time. Whether it be organizing a bus trip to Fenway or a last minute vacation day to play golf. Dave leaves a heartache difficult to heal, but memories no one can steal. He will be truly missed...

Dave and I were members of the 1960 state champion hockey team at Hope high School in Providence. After high school I played on many amateur teams, some of which won titles as well. Never, though, did I have a better teammate than Dave Milligan. With a few well-placed words and that winning smile he encouraged those he played with to excel. He never criticized a lapse or failure to execute, choosing instead to emphasize the positive. At the University of Rhode Island I was also privileged to live on the same floor in the freshman dorm with Dave. He was as good a neighbor as he was a teammate. (He and his roommate Bruce Bumpus has the cleanest room on the floor). I didn't see Dave much after school - mostly at Hope reunions - but I thought of him often. I will miss him.

Dear Lee, Just a note to express my condolences on your loss. I always considered Dave a good friend, particularly at URI, and I had a great deal of respect for him. Even though we lost touch through the years, I still recall the many hours we spent together in the engineering program. I wish you the peace of Christ and will keep you and your family in my prayers. Mike Sanderson

Dear Lee and family, Dave was my life long friend. When I was the best man at your wedding, I made a toast which included two wishes: I wished you a happy life together and I wished that "all your problems would be little ones, at least until they grow up". Looking at the photo albums of your lives with Dave, I feel these wishes were fulfilled. The cherished memories of your life together with Dave and your beautiful family growing up will last forever. Barbara and I am grateful to have been able to share a small portion with you. Love, Jerry & Barbara McCauley, Sterling, CT

Dear Milligan Family, I was very sad to read about your loss. I only met Dave a couple of times, but felt like I knew him well. I'm sure he affected many people he met in the same way. We talked sports, especially the Red Sox. He had a very soothing quality about him along with a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences. Glen Moreau

Dear Milligans, I'm so very sorry for your loss of your husband and father. After knowing Mr. Milligan for many years, and through a few mischievous incidents, I think back fondly on the last time I saw him in Nantucket filled with the joy of having his family around, the boat close at hand, and fresh quahogs waiting on the deck. There were many laughs that visit. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Love, Margaret

Dear Lee, Ted, Scott, and Amy. Diane and I are so sorry for your loss. I will never forget the support and love you bestowed on my family when we lost our folks. David was an amazing man and genuine human being. I can remember one time playing golf with Uncle David and my Dad during a visit to our house back in LA. I remember experiencing one of his monster drives and saying to my self now that's how your supposed to do it. God bless you all love Jim and Diane....
