Obituary of Violet T. Frascarelli

Violet T. (Fasolo) Frascarelli, 90, passed away on Saturday April 18, 2020 at Hartford Hospital. She was born on June 5, 1929 in Farmington, daughter of the late Anthony Fasolo and Immaculata (Capodiferro) Fasolo. Violet graduated from Farmington High School in 1947, lived in the town most of her life, and was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church in Farmington. Violet loved antiques, the stock market, going on trips to Vermont with Paige, Bill, and Austyn, and she always made the best out of any situation. Violet was a strong, authentic woman who would liven up a room with her personality, spunk, and sense of style. She touched many people’s lives by being her genuine self. She moved to Glastonbury in 2019 and spent the last 8 months of her life surrounded by love, care, and joy. Violet is predeceased by her brother George Fasolo and sister “Tootsie”. She is survived by her husband Albert Frascarelli, and two daughters: Paige Dolce, her husband Bill, and their daughter Austyn (who Violet had a special bond with) of Glastonbury; and Kristen Fliss and her two children Dana and Tanner Fliss of Green Bay, WI. We’d like to thank the Atria employees for giving Violet love and attention, and thank you to the Hartford Hospital doctors, nurses, and hospice team for giving her care and comfort. The funeral service will be private, but in the future there will be a Celebration of Life memorial for Violet. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Petit Family Foundation, 32 Whiting St., Plainville, CT 06062, or visit https://www.petitfamilyfoundation.org/. She livened up the place with her dancing and personality! My parents and I were there every day making memories and helping her. We were blessed to be her world, family, caregivers, the ones who fought for her to give her the best. Her hugs, personality, the way she said “what’s up?!” to people, it was all special. While in the hospital, she was still asking how the stock market was doing. People who knew Grandma know she was one-of-a-kind. “Grandma....” You always had our backs, you stood up for us no matter what. You appreciated Mom, treated Dad like your own son, you & I were soulmates. Up until I was 16 years old, you slept over every week to help and spend time with us. We have so many fun memories like dancing in the kitchen, going to antique stores, holding hands on car rides, and making root beer floats after dinner. You're a huge reason I am the way I am. My goal is to be just like you - the perfect blend of tough, strong, resilient, funny, honest, appreciative, caring & generous. You taught me to always look & feel my best, be myself and live confidently, be kind but also tough and never take shit from people. Thanks to you I have the courage to stand up for myself & others. You went through many difficult things and never let anything bring you down. You never realized how much of an impact you had on everyone, including strangers. I was your personal aide/companion in addition to being your granddaughter.... and that combination was an honor. Some days I helped you manage pain and brought you to appointments, then we held hands in the waiting room. Other days we ate chocolate pudding and talked about your childhood, laughing about the funny things you did. We always ended the day saying “I love you”. I’m so grateful you met Tyler, he loves you too. You always said, “Tyler you look good!”, “You two make a nice couple”, “Do you think Tyler will give you a ring soon?”. I know you’ll be there on our wedding day - I’ll look for you It was so fun helping you and surprising you with soup and pastry. I promise that we and everyone else will talk about you with the love, joy, humor, and strength that you gave us. You are always with me grandma, everything good I do is for you. I am literally a part of you, and that itself is incredible. I will make you proud. Oh one more thing - when you see Sydney give her a hug for us, and go relax in the sun together like you used to
