Obituary of Robert Alan Hayman
Robert Alan Hayman beloved husband of Ann (Zehnder) Hayman died peacefully on February 2, 2018 after a short illness. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 24, 1924 the son of Oscar and Gertrude (Epstein) Hayman. He was a graduate of New England College of Pharmacy and was the Director of Pharmacy at the Institute of the Living. Bob is survived by three children, Gary Hayman (Sharon) of West Hartford, Leslie Bietz (Thomas) of Richmond, Rhode Island, Andrea Babjak of Largo, Florida two stepchildren and several grandchildren. His first love was hiking. He was a lifelong member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and for many years led their hikes. He enjoyed long bike rides on area bike paths. When not reading or going to the movies he could be found perusing travel brochures in anticipation of his next trip. He was an avid traveler. His favorite cites to explore were Amsterdam and London. Family and friends are invited to the Mulryan Funeral Home 725 Hebron Ave Glastonbury on Friday February 9, 2018 beginning at 11:00am with a service of sharing beginning at 11:45am. Burial at Green Cemetery, Glastonbury will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Appalachian Mountain Club, 10 City Square, Boston, MA 02129.
