A very proud World War II Army Veteran, he served in Australia, New Guinea, Netherland East Indies, Philippines and Japan for 29 months where he witnessed the after math of Hiroshima, Japan. Frank worked for many years at the Royal Typewriter and then with I. R. Stitch Associates, in Hamden, Ct., which he retired from.  Frank was a very skilled carpenter. His  greatest joy and accomplishments in his life were the beautiful year around home he hand built at Amston Lake in Lebanon, Ct. and the Florida room at his residence in East Hartford.  He and his wife, Ellinor, were also accomplished ball room dancers after 20 years of lessons. They enjoyed many Saturday nights dancing to live bands.  He is survived by his loving and devoted family, his wife Ellinor Richards of East Hartford, Ct., his daughter and son in law Elinor (Elly) and Ronald Stoppa of Glastonbury, Ct. and Newport, RI.; two granddaughters; Dawn (Wadding) Stoppa and Jonathan Twichell of Portland, Ct. and Ashley Stoppa of West Warwick, RI.; three great grandchildren; Juliana, Jonathan and Jacob Twichell of Portland, Ct. He also leaves a very special Nephew, Anthony Trymbulak and his wife Carole of Salem, Ct. and Palm Bay, Florida, whose help was greatly appreciated during this difficult time. The family extends to many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother and his wife, Lawrence and Irene Richards and four sisters and their husbands, Ann and Clarence Nielsen, Emma and Howard Buys,  Barbara and John Kataja and Dorothy and Stephen Rauert. Calling hours will be Wednesday August 30, 2017 from 5 to 7pm, at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave, Glastonbury, Ct.  Funeral service will be Thursday August 31, 2017 at 11am at Mulryan Funeral Home followed by burial at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford, Ct., with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Connecticut Childrens  Medical Center Foundation, 282 Washington St, Hartford, CT 06106.
