Mary and Ann,
I am so sorry that I did not get to see Dick.
I remember talking to him last summer and
his mentioning that he drives down to texas to
see you Ann.
He said that the next time he would stop and
see us in Ohio.
I only wish that our families had been closer.
I will always think about the Horrigans and
keep them in my prayers.
May God Bless You Always.

I just added a condolence--from Bob and Rose Moore. In the first paragraph I noted that I had met Richard Horrigan's wife Mary in first grade at St. Mary's in Painesville, Ohio.
However, that was in 1946, and perhaps it was the mischievous spirit of Richard that changed that date to "the 1960s". Please, Spirit of Richard, change that back to 1946. I couldn't find a way to do that. Mary and I were good students, but we did not enter first grade in the year of our birth!

I became a forever friend of Richard's wife when we were both first-graders at St. Mary's in Painesville, OH. In the 1960s. When our friend Mary met and married Richard, he became a friend to our family as well. Though he and Mary lived in a distant state from us, they would stop at our home, to and from, whenever they traveled down to see their daughter Ann in Texas. That would be a wonderful excuse for a gathering with Mary's Ohio family and extended family, who became our friends too. What a house guest! Dick would sneak out early to walk our big dog out to the newspaper box to bring the paper to us before we woke each morning. We would find him doing chores... filling our pellet stove in winter... clearing a leaf-filled corner of our gutter... whatever he saw that he could do! We had many spirited conversations with this Irishman who was every bit as opinionated as Bob and me. We don't drink tea, but we always kept tea in our pantry... for Richard!
We cannot imagine we won't be seeing him again... until he corners us in the Afterlife and invites us into yet another of his trademark debates. Godspeed, Friend Richard! When we meet again, I'll bring the tea!
