Obituary of Jeremiah J. Cronin, Jr.

Jeremiah J. Cronin, Jr., 77, of Glastonbury, husband of the late Dorothy (Morin) Cronin, died peacefully Thursday October 27, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his family. Born August 28, 1939 in Hartford, Jeremiah was the son of the late Jeremiah J., Sr. and Nora (Barrett) Cronin. He graduated from Hartford Public High School and enlisted in the Air Force as a medic, carrying his training to St. Francis Hospital before leaving the medical field to pursue a career in computers and technology. For the next 40 years, Jeremiah worked in sales for Memorex and EMC before retiring with Sun Microsystems in 2000. Jeremiah is survived by a son Michael B. Cronin and his wife Jennifer of Glastonbury, 2 daughters Maura Hughes and her husband Ian of Bristol, England, Deirdre Pizzoferrato of Glastonbury, a sister Mary Ellen Moore of Rocky Hill, 7 grandchildren Elleri and Madison Hughes, Ellis, Jack and Julia Pizzoferrato, Devin and Taylor Cronin, a sister-in-law Carol Guerriero of Cromwell as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his very dear companion, Elaine Driscoll of Glastonbury and her family. He was predeceased by a son Timothy J. Cronin, and a sister Noreen Guimond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday Nov. 2 at 10:30 am in St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church St., Hartford. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Tuesday Nov. 1 from 6-8pm.
