Obituary of William Borland

William S. Borland, 83, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Valerie (Young) Borland, died Tuesday (April 17, 2012) at Hartford Hospital. Born March 30, 1929 in Clydebank, Scotland, son of the late William L. and Lilias (Sneddon) Borland. Bill came to the United States in 1952 on the Queen Mary and lived on Long Island for 35 years moving to Glastonbury 17 years ago. Bill had been a self-employed painter and paper hanger prior to his retirement in 1995, and had served in the British Armed Service for 2 years. Besides his wife of 50 years he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Laura L. and William Longo of Glastonbury, a son William Scott Borland of Rocky Point, NY, 4 grandchildren; Ashley Ann Longo, Anthony P. Longo, Cassidy E. Longo and Jacob W. Borland and many cousins in Scotland. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Saturday, April 21 from 2-5pm.
