Obituary of Ruth Gardiner Johnson

Ruth Gardiner Johnson. Ruthie passed away on Friday September 18, 2015. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Elmer and Esther (Taylor) Gardiner. She was a beautiful lady who had much courage and energy. She fought multiple sclerosis for 45 years, each year fighting to stay with the people she loved. She was loved by all those who had the courage and understanding to be with her. She leaves behind, her husband, Johnson, two sons and their wives, Todd and Becky Kennedy, Darrell and Carla Kennedy, a loving daughter Wendi Shea and her husband Danny, two brothers Leon Gardiner and John Gardiner and a sister Nancy Quigley. Her best friends Jackie and Jim. She also leaves behind her surrogate daughter Tracy, and nine grandchildren, Tauney, Aiden, Emily, Cavan, Ciran, Fanora, Kaiden, DJ and Tristan. She was predeceased by a brother David Gardiner and four sisters, Gail Dondi, Diane Kristoff, Donna Lee Gardiner and baby girl Gardiner. A special thank you goes out to the very special people at the MS Center at Mt. Sinai Hospital for all the help with her disease over the years. Funeral service will be held Wednesday Sept. 23 at 11am in the Congregational Church of South Glastonbury (corner of Main and High Sts). Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Tuesday Sept 22 from 6-8pm.
