Obituary of James Sherry

James B. "Jim" Sherry, 75, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Ann (Shannon) Sherry, died Friday September 30, 2011 at Manchester Hospital after a long illness. Born October 1, 1935 in Hartford, he was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. Prior to his retirement Jim had owned and operated the Triangle Cafe in Glastonbury. He also had managed the Old Dutch in Glastonbury. Jim enjoyed reading, golfing, sports, music and animals, and especially loved his Bichon Frise, Rascal. Jim served in the US Air Force, Special Weapons Division. Besides his wife he is survived by his sister Lois (Villa) Doherty and her husband Bernard (Barney) of Quincy, MA, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Mary (Shannon) and Charles (Chet) Zakreski of Port St. Lucie, FL, William and Phyllis Shannon of Rockford, IL, Robert Shannon of Chazy, NY, Anne (Osborne) Shannon of Pittsford, VT, an uncle William Villa of Colchester, 2 sisters Donna and Laurie and several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents Mary (Yetishefsky) Villa, Edward Sherry and Peter Villa, a brother Brian Sherry and a brother-in-law John Shannon. A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday Oct. 5 at 11am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Tuesday Oct 4 from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the John A.
