Lea and I say to you that we are saddened by the news of Bob's passing. You may know that Bob and I were pretty close as members of "The Team" at HH, even to the point of exchanging offices on the first floor of the Conklin Building. Many is the time we talked in either his or my chambers and pretty much saw eye to eye about most issues. He was always fair, reasoned and to the point. I don't think he suffered fools very well which is to his credit. Outside of his prodigious professional life his interests were fun for all...dogs, tennis and restaurants of the world. We all learned a lot from your and his trips on this earth. He was among those who had the respect of the leadership, the Board of Directors and the entire employee force. His creative contributions during his tenure live on...The Employee Council, The Pension Plan to name just two. So we see another good man and great contributor pass on. We are all better for having known and respected him. We wish you and Garth the best. Sincerely, Donald L. Brown, M.D.

As a Hartford Hospital retiree, what I remember most about Bob was his vision that led to the founding of and constant support for the Employee's Council, a unique vehicle for employees to interact with management. My sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues.
