Obituary of John Kalman
John J. Kalman, Jr., 71, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Patricia (Urban)
Kalman, died Thursday April 29, 2011 at Hartford Hospital with his family by his
side. Born June 13, 1939 in Middletown, CT., son of the late John J. Kalman,
Sr. and Genevieve (Danoski) Kalman, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 43 years. John attended Connecticut State Teacher's College and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. John retired from the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation after 35 years of service. In addition to his wife, Patricia of 45 years, John is survived by two daughters, Stacy Kalman-Mariano and her husband Robert of Old Saybrook, Kristen MacKenzie and her husband Bradford of Webster, MA., and one cherished grandson, Christopher John MacKenzie. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Statia Urban and a brother-in-law Wayne Urban both of Meriden. He enjoyed being with his family, and vacationing in Charlestown, Rhode Island and on Cape Cod. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3, at 11am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 West Evergreen Ave., Suite 303, Chicago, IL 60642-2642.
