My condolences to Bob's wife and children, who I unfortunately have never met. I was a fraternity brother of Bob's at UMass, and we spent a very special time together traveling throughout Europe and Morocco in 1972. He was a great friend and I regret that we eventually lost touch.

Bob Nims was like a brother and father to me. He helped pick me up when I was at my lowest and I will always remember for his great spirit.

Dear Nims Family: We always looked forward to Bob's visit and knew it was his pleasure to drive out to the farm to do business. I can't say we applied for mortgage(s) just to visit with Bob; but it was almost the fact. We would say "Bob will figure it out!" and he always did, no matter the situation. He had a group of folks who were as helpful and trustworthy as he was in getting the job done. We liked Bob immediately. He always felt part of our family. We were honored to be visited once also by "Mrs. Nims" as Bob used to call his better half. And we were happy recipients of Mrs. Nim's fine fruit jams (which I happily ate with a spoon). Jane and I send our sympathies and understanding that Bob's life was a joy to him and a joy to those he counted as his many friends. ~Susan Parks and Jane Kerstetter
