Obituary of William Curry
William R. Curry, 91, of Glastonbury, husband of the late Loretta (Donovan) Curry, died Tuesday January 11, 2011 at Masonicare in Newtown, CT. Born in Hartford, son of the late Frank J. and Mary (Johnson) Curry he had lived in Hartford and West Hartford before moving to Glastonbury 15 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1985 he was a Quality Control Inspector for Veeder-Root Company for 45 years. Bill had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War 2. He was a member of the Glastonbury Senior Center and loved to dance at other local senior centers in the area, and was an avid UCONN sports fan. He is survived by his loving children 2 sons Bill Curry of Glastonbury, Tom Curry of Cromwell, 2 daughters and sons-in-law Mary and Joseph Poisson of Grantham, NH, Barbara and Bill Brimmer of Newtown, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Ellen Donovan of Durham, 9 grandchildren Michael Poisson, Kelley Brimmer Flynn, Erin Brimmer Burrows, Matthew Brimmer, Jeremy Felt, Jessica Felt, Andrew, Aidan, and Sean Curry, 7 great grandchildren Elias Royer Poisson, Maggie Poisson Royer, Sarah Flynn, Nathaniel, Emma, Lauren Burrows and Ellie Brimmer. He was predeceased by a daughter and her husband Sharon and David Felt, a grandson John Poisson and a brother Francis Scott Curry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday Jan. 15 at 11am in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am.
