Obituary of Rosemary Smith

Rosemary A. (Kiernan) Smith, 95, of Glastonbury, wife of the late William R. Smith, Sr., died Monday January 9, 2012 at home. Born October 26, 1916 in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Peter and Jetta (Darigan) Kiernan. Rosemary was a veteran of WW II having served honorably in the Coast Guard and it was while in the military she met her husband William. They settled in Wethersfield, CT where they raised their family. Rosemary was active in the American Legion Auxiliary in Wethersfield and a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church. Rosemary is survived by her daughter Karen Satriano and her husband Gennaro of Marlborough, her son-in-law Joseph Morocco of Hebron, her grandchildren that she delighted in; Adam Satriano of East Hampton, Jon Morocco and his wife Christine of Summit, NJ, Laura Kompanik and her husband Kevin and great grandchildren Mason and Taylor of Hebron, David Morocco and his fiancée Amanda Doll of Hebron, Brennan Smith of Glastonbury, Kelsey Kalapos and her husband Jeff of Shelton, Mackenzie Rae Smith of Glastonbury, her daughter-in-law Mary Anne Costarella of Glastonbury and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Deborah S. Morocco and a son William Roy Smith, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday Jan. 14, at 11am in the Church of the Holy Family, 185 Church St., Hebron. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am.
