Arthur Biancalani 87 of West Hartford died looking up at the stars peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday February 11, 2015. Born April 6th 1927 in a house in South Glastonbury he lived in West Hartford for the past 53 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #56. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He very much enjoyed playing setback at the Senior Center and made many wonderful friends there. He will be missed. No one and we mean no one, loved a good Western movie or TV show like Art did. He saw them all, then saw them all again. He got to see his beloved Red Sox win three World Series championships and that delighted him no end. Arthur was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Stephanie in 2002. He is survived by three daughters, Linda Biancalani of West Hartford, Nancy Ruddell of West Hartford and Karen Burns and her husband Bob Burns of East Hartford, six grandchildren, Gina Ruddell, Kristen DeVault and her husband Brian, Michael Ruddell all of Massachusetts, Nicolette Burns, Bobby Burns and Kristina Burns all of East Hartford and two great grandchildren, Wes and Mia DeVault of Massachusetts. Art also leaves several nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Josephine Pearson. She entered his life exactly at the time he needed it. Funeral services are private. A memorial in the spring will be held to celebrate the life of Arthur. In lieu of flowers, hug a friend or family member and you may make a donation to the charity of your choice.
