A longtime resident of Glastonbury and Mansfield, CT, she recently lived at Salmon Brook Center and previously, Mountain Laurel in Glastonbury. Her family wants to thank the caregivers at both facilities and especially VITAS of Glastonbury who provided Hospice care the last few months. Betty was born August 21, 1926 in Sutton, MA to Roland and Ruth Albee. Betty graduated from East Douglas, MA High School, and from Simmons College in Boston, with a B.S. in Nursing in 1947. She married Perley B. Robinson 1948 and settled in Glastonbury, CT, where Betty worked for area hospitals. While working at McCook Hospital (State of CT) she returned to college in the mid 70's to get her Masters in Nursing. Betty and Perley were married 60 years until his passing in 2008, and raised 4 children, Katherine, Kenneth, Sandra and Susan in Glastonbury, CT. Betty was a doer, always getting involved and pushing for the right things to be done. She was an avid lover of the outdoors, and participated as a Ski Patrol Member (Blandford Ski Club), Nature Conservancy, CT AMC Board Member, Friends of Mansfield Hollow, and other conservation organizations. Betty received several lifetime honors from these groups and we are very proud of her. Perley and Betty were avid Square Dancers and also enjoyed traveling and hiking. She continued her love of the outdoors late into life, skiing, hiking and kayaking well into her 80s. Betty was a member of Storrs Congregational Church and The Congregational Church in South Glastonbury, where she has many friends and appreciated their visits. Her faith was strong.
