Obituary of Robert Aparo

Robert T. Aparo, 74, of Manchester, formerly of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Beverly (Mikoleit) Aparo, died Monday July 28, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Born August 27, 1939 in Hartford, son of the late Alfred and Lillian (Coco) Aparo, he had lived all his life in Glastonbury, before moving to Manchester nine years ago. Bob graduated from Glastonbury High School and had served in the US Army. He was a Letter Carrier for 42 years with the Glastonbury Post Office retiring in 2005.When not working at the post office you would find Bob taking care of the family farm. He was a member of the American Legion, Post # 56 Glastonbury and the N.A.L.C. Bob was an amazing , positive and compassionate person. He was a pillar of strength for his family and truly a hero to all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile and wonderful sense of humor. Besides his wife he leaves his step children who he treated as if they were his own, daughter Linda Lee Jones of Sarasota, FL, sons Jeffrey Jones and wife Kelly of Davenport, FL, Thomas Jones and wife Sara of Fairfield, CA, four loving grandchildren Ryan Jones, Shawna Rushford and husband Colby, Benjamin Jones and fiancée Taryn Kirkwood and Nicholas Jones and a special angel great granddaughter Madison Ann Rushford. He also leaves his beloved sister Antoninette Cannata of Glastonbury, brother Ronald Aparo and wife Patricia of Denton, TX, his treasured nephew John Cannata of Marlborough, nephew Roger Aparo and niece Karen Aparo of FL, as well as many relatives and dear friends, especially his devoted friend Mike Muller. He was predeceased by a brother Philip Aparo of St. Cloud, FL. Robert's family is very thankful for the care provided by the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center and nursing staff at Conklin 2 for their loving care and compassion. The Davita Dialysis nurses and the entire staff for the excellent care provided through his nine year journey as well as Dr.'s Jeffrey Kamradt, A. Bacay, C. Militi, E. Chafaules and S. Firshein. Funeral service will be Friday Aug 1 at 9:15am from the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, to St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday July 31 from 5-8pm.
