Obituary of Alberta Ouellette

Alberta Theresa (Lavoie) Ouellette, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Glastonbury, passed away July 15, 2014 at the VNA Hospice Center, after a long tough battle with ovarian cancer. Born June 13, 1941 in Green River, NB Canada, the daughter of the late Albert and (Theresa Soucy) Lavoie. She attended Saint Ann's School and graduated from Hartford High School in 1960. She worked as a secretary at Aetna Life and Casualty for 28 years, then went to work at the Connecticut Fire Academy as secretary to the administrator of the school for 10 years. She retired from there to move to Florida. She married her husband Philip in 1962. Alberta and Phil enjoyed traveling and going on many cruises. Besides her husband Phil she leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, Yvette Garon, Paul (Norma) Thomas, Adrien "Andy" (Mabel Parent) Ouellette, Carlene Cyr Ouellette, Arlene Ouellette Clavette and Patricia Kit Ouellette DiNoncenza. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Also aunts and uncles, Euclide Soucy, Gerard (Rena) Soucy, Ida Soucy and many cousins and a dear lifelong friend Irene Sevigny Lajeunesse. She was predeceased by three brothers-in-law Ronald Clavette, Joseph Robert Ouellette and Albert DiNocenza, Jr. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday July 25 from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 26 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. (Please meet directly at church). Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to VNA Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL, 32960. or to a charity of the donors choice.
