Obituary of Zenaida Gaudet

Zenaida (Urizarri) Gaudet, 83, formerly of Glastonbury, died peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2014. She was born March 26, 1931, in Havana, Cuba to the late Jose A. Urizarri and Maria (Prieto) Urizarri. After arriving in the United States on June 24, 1952, Zenaida (nick named Zea) she married her loving husband, the late, Kenneth Richard Gaudet. They were married on December 20, 1958, in Lawton, OK. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, going to the beach and watching sunsets. Zu as she was called by her husband attended Manchester Community College and in 1989 received an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Zenaida is survived by her four children, Josephine M. Gaudet, Kenneth J. Gaudet, his wife, Michele of Glastonbury and their children Brianne, Kelsey, Ryan and Evan, Monique G. Burns, her husband, Thomas of Tolland, and their children Shona, Skylar, Ashley and Troy, and Christine A. Richards, her husband, Philip of Tolland and their child Madison. She was predeceased by her sister Ada (Urizarri) Del Valle of Havana Cuba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Matthew Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT with interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1318 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, CT. Friends and family are welcome to join the family for calling hours, Friday, July 11, 2014 at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT, from 6 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Zenaida's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148.
