Obituary of Benjamin Varni

Benjamin C. Varni, 34, of South Glastonbury, died Friday June 27, 2014 at home. Born June 5, 1980 in Hartford and grew up in Glastonbury. He is survived by his mother and step father Carla (Pozzetta) and Walter Rice of Rocky Hill, his father Dennis R. Varni of Las Vegas, NV, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Hillary and Brian Kadish of West Seattle, WA, Mourghan and Jack Ridenour of Colorado, a brother and sister-in-law Edan and Nina Varni of Glastonbury, his beloved grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Varni of South Glastonbury, a step brother Michael Rice and his wife Caren of Newington, a step sister Wendy Rice of Southington. Ben was a special uncle to his seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Max Varni. Ben had a special connection to the outdoors and loved to spend time biking, snowboarding, and skateboarding. He had a kind heart and a beautiful smile. Our brother, son, and friend will be deeply missed but we know he is at peace. There are no calling hours. A Mass will be held in the near future and will be announced.
