Obituary of Teresa Melzen

Teresa (Lukach) Melzen, 88, of Glastonbury, wife of the late Joseph J. Melzen, Sr., died Saturday June 14, 2014 at Salmon Brook Nursing Home. Born October 13, 1925 in Hartford, daughter of late George and Sophie (Cherpak) Lukach, she had lived in Glastonbury for the past 70 years. Teresa was a member of St. Paul Church, the League of the Sacred Heart and a bingo player on Tuesday nights at St. Paul Men's Club. Teresa is survived by her five children and their spouses: Joe and Gail Melzen, Jim Melzen and Mark Humphrey, Ken and Beth Melzen all of Glastonbury, John and Sarah Melzen of Hebron, Mary and Jim Polite of Florida, her ten grandchildren, Paul Melzen and his wife Katie, Thomas and his wife Amy, Timothy, Emily and Glenn Melzen, Dana Pereira and her husband Paul, Walker, Chase, Elizabeth and Nate Melzen, and four great grandchildren, Tori, Joe III, and Fiona Melzen and Tyler Pereira. A special thanks to her dear friend Lydia Ritchie. She was predeceased by her siblings John, George, Helen and Marguarite Lukach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 17 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Neipsic Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Monday June 16 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Joseph J.
