Obituary of Richard Davis

Richard M. Davis, 76, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Polly (Holzbaur) Davis, died Saturday March 29, 2014 at Hartford Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side. Born July 24, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late M. Joseph and Thelma (King) Davis he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 20 years. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's Prep School and St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia and was a Director of Information Technology at Travelers Insurance Co. prior to his retirement. Richard was an avid golfer and reader and enjoyed reading about World War II and the history of golf. He had served in the US Navy and was a member of the PGA, a local golf league. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kerry and John Jacob and two grandchildren Liam Richard Jacob and Alexandra Elizabeth Davis Jacob of Portsmouth, RI, a brother Gerald Davis of Doraville, GA, a sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Robert Huxley of Shipbottom, NJ. The family would like to thank the Connecticut Alzheimer's Association for all of their help, guidance and resources given to them the past few years.
