Obituary of Leila Sloan

Leila (Marston) Sloan, 96, of South Windsor, formerly of Glastonbury, wife of the late William Sloan, died Friday November 29, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. Born July 16, 1917 in East Glastonbury, daughter of the late Elmer and Lili (Denler) Marston, she had lived in East Hartford and Glastonbury moving to South Windsor 3 years ago. She retired in 1981 from the Rocky Hill Veterans Hospital. Leila was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and a member of the Elks. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Gail and Lynn Lemieux of Manchester, her son William B. Sloan of Manchester, her grandchildren and their spouses; Noelle and Timothy Sawtelle of Storrs, Renee Lemieux of Manchester, Courtney and Mark Chan of Ellington and Jeremey Sloan of Marlborough, her great grandchildren; Joshua and Amanda Sawtelle and Jaida and Jaren Chan. She is also survived by 2 sisters Ethel Roberts of East Hartford and Gladys Niver of Glastonbury. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Raymond and Allan Marston. Funeral service will be Tuesday Dec.3, at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in the veterans section of Neipsic Cemetery, East Glastonbury.
