Obituary of Mary Carroll
Mary Gesen Carroll, 84, of Glastonbury, beloved wife James B. Carroll for 61 years, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 22. In addition to her husband James; Mary is survived by her children James B. Jr. and wife Gregg Carroll of Cortlandt, NY, Mark G. and Silvia Carroll of Genova Italy, Sara J. and William Kelly of Glastonbury, John L. and Bijour Carroll of Bolton, Risha J. and Allen Deary of Carlisle MA. She was predeceased by her daughter Lee Ann, who was married to John Cancellieri. She is also survived by grandchildren John Cancellieri Jr. and wife Leigh, Christina Cancellieri Conoscenti and husband Christopher, Caitlin Cancellieri Patoka and husband John, Mackenzie Carroll, Kevan Carroll, David Carroll, William Kelly Jr, Matthias Kelly, Margaret Kelly, Jordyn Carroll, Luke Deary and Alisha Deary. Mary is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Mary was born in Concord, NH to Margaret Jackman and Rear Admiral Carl G. Gesen. She graduated from Colby Sawyer Junior College and Brown University, where she met her husband James. They moved to Glastonbury in 1955, where they settled and raised their family. Mary was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Founding Fathers, a docent at the Welles Shipman Ward House in Glastonbury, an active volunteer at the Glastonbury Historical Society, and was also treasurer of the John Tom Hill Community Club. Visiting hours are 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26 at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue Glastonbury, CT. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27 at 1:00 pm at the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury. Interment in Old Church Cemetery.
