Obituary of Nancy Wasserman
Nancy (Stevens) Wasserman, 52, of Bolton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 27 following a courageous, two-year battle with brain cancer. Born in Hartford on December 19, 1960, she grew up in Newington, the loving daughter of Robert and the late Doris Stevens. Nancy was an outstanding athlete at Newington High School and earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Before starting her family, Nancy worked for many years as the fitness director at CourtHouse Plus in Vernon and later as a personal trainer where her warmth and vibrant personality touched the lives of many and rewarded her with a lifetime of lasting friendships. Among other hobbies, she had a love and talent for designing beaded jewelry which remain treasured gifts to her family and dear friends. But beyond all, Nancy's family and friends will remember her for her love and devotion to her family and the lasting impact she had on the lives of everyone she touched. Nancy will be missed deeply by her two loving children, Ryan and Lindsay, her husband of 24 years, Neal, father Robert, sister Beverly Bedini and her husband Ken, sister Laurie Paetzold and her husband William, nephew Rob Bedini and his wife Sarah, nephews Kyle Bedini and Will Paetzold, niece Haley Paetzold, father- and mother-in-law, Walter and Sylvia Wasserman, brother-in-law Brian Wasserman and cherished friend Lynn Desiderato and her family. Nancy's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Amber and Sonja from Vitas Hospice Care and to Evelyn from A Caring Hand for their care and compassion during her battle. Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Nancy's life on Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00 am at the Bolton Congregational Church, 228 Bolton Center Road, Bolton. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 1st from 4-7 pm at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Nancy's memory to the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance, P.O. Box 370514, West Hartford, CT 06137 or the Bolton Congregational Church.
