Obituary of Robert Charles Viani

Robert Charles Viani, 84, of Glastonbury passed away on December 11, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Kathleen McNerney Viani.

Born in Hartford, Robert was the son of the late Charles and Mary Ambrose Viani. He was a Nuclear Physicist for General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton for many years before starting a new career as a real estate developer. Bob was a true gentleman who lived his life with kindness and generosity, and was happiest spending time with family and friends, and enjoying his passions for cooking, gardening, fishing, and travelling, especially to Italy.

In addition to his beloved wife, Robert is survived by his large loving family, including daughters Holly Fremed and her husband Brad, and Laura Worth, all of Tennessee, his step-sons Timothy Marecki and his wife Maria of Florida, and Patrick Marecki and his husband Connor of New York, his brother Charles Viani and his wife Patricia of Wethersfield and Florida, his niece Michele of Florida, his grandchildren Daniela and Dante Blanco, Timothy and Charlie Worth, Lola and Sean Marecki, Emma Jaramillo, his devoted McNerney clan, his parrot Tao, and his many wonderful friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 am at Christ the King Parish at Incarnation Church, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
