He later served as vice president and controller at INA Corporation and Vice President of Cigna Holdings in Philadelphia. His professional life was distinguished by numerous publications, committee leadership, and international lectures across five continents.

He was a devoted husband to his late wife Gail Todd Lukens for 50 years and to Barbara McDermott for 18 years. He was a loving father to Jennifer Holmes and Julie Belsky, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Paul loved Cape Cod where he vacationed and lived for over 50 years. Over the years he enjoyed sailing and boating and occasionally fishing. He passed on his love for clamming to his grandchildren and every summer would enjoy homemade stuffed clams. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and tennis with his first wife, Gail Todd Lukens. Before he settled on the Cape he spent many years camping up and down the east coast with his family. In his later years he enjoyed time at the Cape and Amston Lake, Ct with his second wife Barbara.
