Last night was the longest night of my life. The calling hours for my precious daughter were from 4 to 8 pm. From 3:45pm to 8:15pm, lines of people of all ages, races, and religions came to pay their respects to a warm, wonderful person that had touched their lives. School administration, teachers, colleagues, friends, football players from Becker, professors, and many others came through the line offering hugs and stories of the many ways that Jamie touched and impacted their lives. Most touching of all was the busload of students from East Hartford Public High School. These earnest kids, with tears streaming down their faces, told of how they felt when they realized that Mrs. Gerardi really loved them and cared about them. They broke and simultaneously healed my heart. Jamie, we will love and miss you always. My beautiful girl, I will love you always.

I met Jamie many years ago at Andy & Lori Cozzi's wedding, she was full of life, beautiful and loved Billy! I am so saddened to hear of her passing and so very sad for her family. God's blessing of comfort and strength for you Billy and for all.
