Jan, Thomas, and Steven,
I got to Know Tom while he was the Scoutmaster of Troop 39. My son Zach was with him for 2 years. Tom was instrumental to me as I took the position of Scoutmaster right after his retirement from the position. I remember the sad news we received when he had his stroke. The troop did our best to include him in meetings, courts of Honors and activities following his stroke. I remember his personal attention to a number scouts to get them through advancement challenges. He was a great Chess Merit badge councilor, and he always had good things to say about the troop.
I remember the year my Dad passed away and my mother passed 6 months later. I went to Tom to discuss what was going on and he offered a shoulder to lean on and offered support where he could.
I have missed him over the past year, it was always great to see the smile on his face.
I hope that you and your family can find Peace in his passing, he was a great man, and he will be missed.
