Obituary of Burton Kelley
Burton A. Kelley, son of Robert and Agnes McKinney Kelley, passed on November 4, 2023, at age 76 in Loudon NH, after 2 years with Parkinsons and dementia. He was born on July 21, 1947, and spent his youth in Glastonbury, CT.
After High School began working for Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford until his retirement after 40 years. Burton enjoyed bowling, winning trophies, owned boats, traveling to Maine for fishing and cruising Connecticut waters. Woodworking was a favorite, making end tables, bookcases, a dresser with matching nightstands, and more. Visiting sawmills, looking for different wood species to make an interesting piece and shopping for woodworking tools was a hobby by itself.
Enjoying the outdoors, worked at Belltown Orchards in the blueberries, was a member of the Glastonbury Sportsmen Club, hunting and fishing. In winter, neighbors enjoyed him snow plowing their driveways and sidewalks. Snowmobiling was another outdoor theme.
Later in life, Burton and Christine were joined in marriage, October 14, 1995, for 28 years. Once enjoyed and loved, all becomes part and fabric of daily living together. Growing roses like his Dad, gardening and relaxing at night with cross stitching that he framed. Burton was a good man who committed nameless unremembered acts of kindness. It is the life in your years and Burton lived while he was strong.
Burton is survived by wife Christine, sisters Blanche Putnam and Elaine Rusczyk, a predeceased brother Robert Kelley: and Marilla, nieces and nephews are Laurie Mankus, David and Lynn Rusczyk, Paul and Sandi Rusczyk, John and Merrily Rusczyk, and Michael and Jennifer Biddle, Rick and Diane Carpenter, Michael and Jane Kelley, and John and Kelly Kelley and numerous young ones making new generations.
