Calling Hours
Obituary of Catherine A. Nicolay
Catherine A. Nicolay, 63, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Glenn C. Schultz, died Thursday, October 26, 2023. She was born in Hartford on May 6, 1960 to Glen and Gayle (Sanders) Nicolay. She attended the University of Connecticut and earned her law degree at Western New England College. Kate practiced law in Connecticut for 30 years. She loved music, motorcycles, festivities, and the water, whether ocean, lake, brook or swimming pool. Her zest for celebrating the holidays and her endless generosity were unmatched. She made friends easily, everywhere she went. Kate was an ardent advocate for the lost, forgotten and abandoned be it man, woman, child, cat or dog, friend or foe. Her love for the downtrodden was only surpassed by fierce passion for her family and a few lucky others. Kate shone with a light so bright that our lives will be dimmed without her. In addition to her husband, Catherine is survived by her sons Skyler Schultz of Glastonbury, Connecticut, Cody Schultz of Manchester, Connecticut, her sisters Susan Stetson of Hubert, North Carolina, Glenda and Tom Martin of Maysville, North Carolina and her brother Michael Nicolay of Melvin Village, New Hampshire. Kate also leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, and pets. She is predeceased by her brothers, Jeffrey Nicolay, Chris Nicolay, and Greg Nicolay. Calling hours will be held Thursday 11/2/2023 at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, from 4:00 to 6:00.
