Obituary of Rosalyn M Kinne
Rosalyn M. Kinne, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023 in the comfort of her home in South Glastonbury, Connecticut. Born on June 25, 1929 in Providence, Rhode Island, Rosalyn was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas E. and Ester (O’Neill) Murphy and her beloved Frances Murphy. She graduated from Glastonbury High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Pembroke College, known today as Brown University. Rosalyn was dedicated to the community she lived in, acting as a Social Worker in Connecticut for over 30 years. As Rosalyn grew older, she continued to be a beacon of light in everyone's lives. Her caring nature and warm demeanor made everyone feel at home, and her infectious sense of humor never failed to bring a smile to our faces. Outside of work, she had a deep passion for reading, often losing herself in books. Her other interests included hunting for treasures at tag sales, cherishing time with friends and family, volunteering at the South Glastonbury Public Library, and enjoying leisurely swims at Orchard Hill Pool Club. Rosalyn is survived by her loving daughter Alison Schneider, son-in-law Bob Schneider as well as her two brothers, Brian Murphy, PHD and Steven Murphy. She was an amazing grandmother to Bobby and Brian Schneider, Julia and Sarah Kinne, and Laura Giles. Additionally she was a lovely great grandmother to a number of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kinne as well as her son, Mark Kinne. A public memorial service or calling hours will not be held. The family will arrange the burial privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the South Glastonbury Public Library or to the Senior Program at the Riverfront Community Center.
