Obituary of Judith J. Reichenbach

Judith ”Judy” Johnson Reichenbach, 86, of Manchester, CT, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Hartford, CT on July 12, 1937, to the late Arthur Johnson and Ruth Latham Johnson (Kazior), she was raised in Newington, CT. After graduating Newington High School, she went on to attend the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women. She began her career at Pratt & Whitney where she met the love of her life, the late Frank “Marty” Reichenbach, whom she married in 1963. Soon afterward, she retired from the working world, moved to Glastonbury, CT and became a stay-at-home mom to her two boys. During retirement, she spent time in Sarasota, FL, and traveled to many parts of the world. Annual family vacations to Cape Cod were also a favorite.

She loved her boys, grandsons, their pet dog, and spending time gardening around the house. She loved to watch the UCONN Women’s Basketball team. She was a member of the Paperweight Collectors Association, and an avid collector of paperweights. She also loved to volunteer her time at the local thrift shop, and the annual church rummage sale. She is survived by her sons Kurt D. Reichenbach (Tatia Winecoff) of East Hampton, CT; and Carl M. Reichenbach (Christine) of Southbury, CT; her three grandchildren, Evan, Cameron, and Henry; her sister Faith J. Preston of Glastonbury, CT.

A Memorial Service in celebration of the life of Judy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday October 14, 2023 at First Church of Christ, 2183 Main Street, Glastonbury, CT.
