Thank you, George, for all you did for your members of Local 354.
Your life was devoted to the working man... and what it meant to be a Machinist.
I hope you will always be remembered by those who had the chance to meet and and benefit from your guidance and leadership.
I know I speak for all those who knew you personally. Especially Jack Ferreira.
You two will shurley have alot to talk about.
Your Friend,
President Local 354 CB

One of the best things that I took from my years in politics was the experience of working with George Poulin.
I met George in the 1990's when I was the Democratic Party's nominee for Congress running against a long entrenched Republican incumbent who always won every town in her district. George became my principal mentor, defying the conventional wisdom that campaigns like ours were hopeless and not worthy of support. He brought us resources of every kind and he was our smartest strategist. Predictably, we didn't win the seat, but we won many towns, and came close enough to victory to demonstrate the value of running a real campaign in a long-shot race.
Years later, George and I took what we learned from this experience and put together a project that supported Democrats running long-shot Congressional races in other parts of the country. I considered it my great good fortune to be working with George again.
George had a long and full life. He will be missed.

Brother Poulin was the GVP for the Northeast Territory when I was first elected as a Business Rep. He was an intimidating force to me as a new rep; over time I learned that he was also a caring leader who fought passionately for his members and all working people. I also got to understand how much he loved his family. One thing struck me in particular about Brother Poulin -- he still had the ability, after fighting injustice for years and years, to get angry -- genuinely upset -- in talking about how working people were exploited by corporate greed.
I admired Brother Poulin greatly, and was proud to work with and for him. My condolences to his family for this loss.

Please accept our most sincere condolences to the Poulin family from the Ostro Family.
My father, Justin Ostro would have been deeply saddened at George's passing. I have also had the pleasure of meeting George on many occasions over those years, and remember him as a kind, personable man, who my dad had great respect for.
We send you prayers for peace.
Sincerely,
Michael Ostro
