I will always remember Mr. Gustavson as an enthusiastic volunteer at Hopewell School's Harvest Home Festival. Even after he was no longer a Hopewell parent he graciously returned for many years to help dig the clam pit, start the fires, grill salmon and roast ducks and geese on spits over the fire. I was very saddened to learn of his passing. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

Dear Chris and Family,
“Gus” as I knew him in the Glastonbury Friendship Circle Memory Program bought so much joy and kindness to all- participants, volunteers and staff. I will miss his infectious laugh, his silly jokes, that devilish twinkle in his eyes and his unwavering positive attitude inspite of his numerous health challenges. Most of all I will miss his enthusiastic participation in our FSC chair dancing segment which I led when I volunteered. He loved it! In the short time I was blessed to know Gus, he made a positive lasting impact on my life. I will miss him dearly. From the perspective of a gemologist, they would say he was the most precious gem!

Dear Chris and Family,
Ray was a great guy and he will be dearly missed by many. As fellow veterans who served during the same years, we enjoyed sharing our stories of our own military experiences with each other. This was back in the day when we worked at the same place. There are many happy memories. My sincere condolences to all of you.
Sincerely, Jim Schaffer

Ray, a gentle, unselfish, unassuming and wonderful person, who endured more than an individual should have to- but never was resentful- just happy to be in the moment. A lesson for all. Life is somewhat unfair - the good stay with us too short. Ray, you will be missed

Dear Chris and Family,
I am so saddened to hear of Ray’s sudden passing . Ray had a huge heart and was so kind to my family and me. His friendship with my Dad was unforgettable from helping with fix it chores, to picking pears and sharing stories. We will all miss him at the grill on the 4th. Ray will be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing to us all. Forever in our hearts, Ray. Rest in peace.
