It is with a great deal of sadness that I read of the passing of a dear old friend. I grew up with George and we shared many memories of our youth. We were adversaries on the baseball diamond and spent many hours at both Rocky Ridge and Goodwin parks. I gave up the opportunity to play professional baseball in order to secure a college education but I must say that George was as good if not better than me when it came to baseball and golf. He will be sadly missed and his memory will stay with me for as long as I shall live.
