Always a smile and a kind word for you, that's how I will always remember Karl. A pillar of the church, he worked ceaselessly in the vineyard of the Lord doing good and caring about others. His love knew no bounds.

My favorite memory of Onkel Karl, or “Onkel Holly”, as we called him, was swimming with the family at Eastbury Pond.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the whole family during this time of mourning, and we especially send prayers and love to Tante Rosemarie for strength and hope in her hour of need.

I am so sorry to hear of Karl's passing. I always looked forward to seeing him at the high school pool. I was impressed that he was so dedicacted to his swims - not to mention that he always dove in! Karl always greeted me with a smile, and I enjoyed chatting with him between laps. I will forever quote him: "If I rest, I rust!"
Perhaps my favorite memory of Karl is that after a couple of years of chatting with him at the pool, I went for a swim with Patti, who I have known since our kids were in elementary school. Suddenly she announced, "Oh, here's my dad!" I had to think twice, as I never made the connection between Patti and my pool friend.
My love to your whole family at this difficult time. Karl was a true gentleman, and I will think of him whenever I go for a swim.
