It is with deep sympathy we read of Dr. Raycrofts passing. Our daughter Ann-Marie was born with spina bifida June 3, 1970 and Dr. Raycroft basically put her back together. She was a patient at Newington Childrens Hospital for almost a solid two years and Dr. Raycroft did many surgeries on her. He was so kind and gentle and he had a wonderful way with Annie and with us. Then she had many years we went to the spina bifida clinic at Newington Dr Raycroft had such a easy way about him and very kind eyes.We owe him a great debt. Annie is still with us she is 52 and lives in her own apartment with care givers. He was a wonderful doctor and just a great kind man.We know he is in heaven with the angels . God bless him and his family. Carolyn and Francis Storrs

Jack was a mentor, friend and teacher. He embodied the spirit of NEOS and was the reason I became involved in the administration of NEOS. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

We first met Jack and Betsy in 1995 when they invited us to Glastonbury to meet the family,
Their son Ted and our daughter Audrey Woodham had met in Indianapolis , IN. and were planning a wedding in Nantucket on the 23rd of September. We were a little uncertain about how a Midwestern couple would blend with a Newengland couple.
We couldn't have been made more welcome. We found common ground in so many of our endeavors. A love of family, nature, history, philanthropy and travel were all interwoven in our lives. Eventually the young couple moved to Massachusetts and our times together were limited. We shared time on Sanibel Is. The Keys, Turturro and major family events with Jack and Betsy and families. Jack was the anchor for his family, His love for Betsy, their children, his surgical practice and life in general was always upfront. We will miss him greatly. Although he's gone he will never be forgotten.

Seeing Jack and Betsy was always a highlight running or attending a New England Orthopedic Society meeting. Always enjoyed Jack's upbeat storytelling and sage advice when it came to running the Society. We will have fond memories of him.
Our condolences to Betsy and family

Dr Raycroft was the truest of "physicians" and the utmost example of a gentleman, We had plenty of laughs at OAH and he was instrumental as a friend when i needed some medical guidance for myself. My prayers to Betsy and all of his family. Sincerely

The Lacy’s would like send our deepest sympathies to the Raycroft’s and extended family.
Being a Glastonbury native and only a bike ride from the family, I had the wonderful opportunity to experience some time with Dr. Raycroft while visiting his youngest son Timothy in my childhood years. I always felt his subtle warm caring ways while remaining a tremendous grounding force to the family. I frequently would find Dr. Raycroft engrossed in his medical journals and likely his family known hobbies.
The obituary shows the depth and generosity of Dr. Raycroft and his very enriching life.
