Carol and family,
My mom and I were very sad to hear of Paul’s passing. Both you and Paul were very special to my mom and she sends her deepest love. Carol, you and Uncle Ken were my God parents. You were my mom’s very special cousin and she loved carrying you around when you were little. It’s hard to realize all these years that have passed.
Your children, grandchildren, and great grandchild share very a very special bond in all they loved to do with their dad, grandpa and great grandpa.
Paul left a true legacy behind with all those students he once coached. Educators have a way of being loved forever and he made his mark upon them showing sportsmanship, leadership and integrity and their love of life& maturing.
Your 62 years of marriage were very rewarding to both of you. A beautiful couple and wonderful husband and wife.
God Bless your family
We will be sending a donation in honor of Carol and memory of Paul.
With love,
Sally & Susan Raupach

We're very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I remember special visits out to the rolling hills of South Glastonbury to visit Carol (my mother's Sally Raupach's cousin) and Paul and the kids back in the early 1960's, swinging on the tire swing, feeding the chickens and rabbits and just running around the woods. Great memories.
Rest in peace, gentle soul Paul, you made an impactful difference.
May Paul's family find peace and comfort.
With love, Bob Raupach and Deb Agrella

To the Grogan Family~
We were out of town and unable to attend the celebration of life for the wonderful Mr. Grogan. We have known your family my entire life. So many great memories of playing at your Glastonbury home to building our camps together in Charlemont. It was always such a pleasure to run into Mr. Grogan around town. He was always smiling and always stopped to talk. So many wonderful memories. Thinking of you at this difficult time.
With love,
Jim and Holly (Woloszczuk) Dillon

Oh my word, I had Mr. Grogan as a gym teacher back in the late sixties. It was at Eastbury Elementary School. I had such a crush on him, he was so kind and so handsome! I lost an earring during one of his classes and I was very devastated. Mr.
Grogan and I searched for quite a while, and he found it! He was so concerned that I was so upset about losing an earring my mother had given me. He was the best gym (P.E.) teacher I ever had. God bless the family.

All the stories I’ve been told since becoming a part of the Grogan family, and all the family get togethers in the Berkshires or in Vermont that Dick and I were part of, make it seem like I’ve known Uncle Paul for years and years. What a blessing. He will be missed and I send my deepest condolences.

To the Grogan family--my thoughts and prayers for all the wonderful memories and joy you experienced with Coach. I graduated from GHS in 1965. I played baseball and soccer. I'll toast to a friend in sports, his humor and easy going personality.

Carol:
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. It seems like you and Paul have been friends with my family for as long as I can remember. It saddens me that so many of my parents' closest friends are leaving us. Paul definitely left his mark on the Glastonbury community. I hope that brings you some comfort.

I think all of us at GHS felt like we were Coach Grogan’s favorite. He made you feel that way. The absolute best at relating to students. If you played a sport, Coach Grogan would figure out a way to let you creatively leave gym class as he thought it was silly to make you exercise during school when you were going to play a sport later. I think he suggested several “walking trails” that led to the cafeteria.
I knew he was a special guy and loved by all the students but to read about his life makes me love him even more. We should all aspire to positively impact so many people in our lives. The best achievement there is. Cheers to Coach Grogan and the love he showered on so many.

One of my fondest memories was of Coach Grogan at GHS. Me and Gary Fortier (1978) playing badminton against him and Coach Mehler. Most competitive games I have ever been a part of in my life. We must have played 50 or more times.
I really think we may have bested them a couple of times, but it doesnt really matter, it was simply one of greatest times with him and Mehler. May the Lord always help keep warm memories in their hearts of this special man that always pushed us to be the best we could be.
