Obituary of Margaret M. Fitzpatrick

Margaret M. (Flint) Fitzpatrick, 85, of Glastonbury, CT and West Harwich, MA passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Daniel J. Fitzpatrick, Jr.

 

Born in Hartford, Margaret was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Winifred (O’Connell) Flint. She was a long time Glastonbury resident, moving from Newington forty-eight years ago. Margaret was the valedictorian of her class at Hartford Public High School. She was a Registered Nurse as well as a Clinical Instructor at the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing for many years. 

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Maura Paulekas and her husband Wayne of Glastonbury, her son Daniel J. Fitzpatrick III and his wife Alice of NJ, her daughter Megan Lucey and her husband Sean of NY, her nine grandchildren; Amy, Kevin and Ryan Paulekas, Daniel J. Fitzpatrick IV and his wife Hannah, Michael Fitzpatrick and his wife Melissa, Caitlin Fitzpatrick, John Fitzpatrick and his wife Olivia, Anya and Kyra Lucey, and her four great grandchildren; Hailey, Charlotte, and Vincent Fitzpatrick, and Daniel J. Fitzpatrick V. Margaret was predeceased by her brother Daniel A. Flint and her sister Winifred Kaba. The joy of her life was to spend time sitting on the deck in the sun, at the Cape, reading and enjoying the company of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services and burial will be private. Friends may call on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 12;00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In order to adhere to current COVID 19 mandates, masks are required and six feet of social distancing will be maintained. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Federation of the Blind Connecticut , 111 Sheldon Road, Unit 420, Manchester, CT 06045 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 S. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
