We are so saddened to learn of the death of your beloved daughter and sister, Emily. Cara ran track with Emily and they became friendly. Emily welcomed Cara to the team and helped her gain confidence both as a runner and a person. What a gift ! Scott and I got to know Emily and your warm family on some of the cross country trips. We all remember Emily’s kindness and radiant smile.
We send condolences and love to all of you on your heartbreaking loss.
Amy, Scott, Alana, Cara, and Liam Dorris

I was heartbroken to hear of Coach Emily’s passing. She was my daughter’s (Jessica) cross country coach at USJ. I fondly remember the cookouts she organized after the one home meet each fall. I also remember her kindness, even disposition, positiveness and dedication to all the girls on the team. She was such a bright spot to them and to many I am sure. I am so very sorry for your loss and trust you will take comfort in these memories and in family and friends. Lifting you up in prayer.

What a beautiful soul, I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Emily through Voluntown Elementary School where she was a counselor. She had that special something that was able to work with children. I was able to tell her at one of my son’s School meetings how I was so happy she was there for him and that for some reason my son clicked with her. She was so helpful and patient with him, and I know her kindness left a mark on him. I’m so thankful for the time she shared with him. Prayers for your family

I remember Em and I's first date. How as I was waiting in the booth this graceful swoosh of brown curls swept past my head and asked, " Dave, right?" I was truly stunned by her confidence and charisma and of course her beautiful smile. After a few hours of loud laughter, sharing stories of our friends and family, and how we were concerned about going to the salad bar after the waitress told us countless times it wasnt ready yet, I knew this girl was so special. Even as we said goodnight, I kept thinking that I hope I got to see her again and boy was I lucky.

This world is a little less sunny without that big bright Em MacEwen smile. We were blessed to have known her throughout her younger years of youth soccer and graduating from GHS with Lauren. Our paths led us to CCSG and to the faith family where Cheryl and Matt became instrumental to our journey. We are trying to fill this incomprehensible void with happy memories of Em. She’s running and smiling now with that glint of sunshine in her eyes. You will remain forever in our hearts. Love, The Mullaney Family. (John,Dianne,Lauren,Taylor and Colin)
