George graduated from St.Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg and attended Becker College in Worcester, MA. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He then graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1959 with B.S. and M.A. degrees in Education and moved to East Hartford, CT to begin his 35 year career as a teacher and serving as principal at the Willowbrook, Norris, and O’Connell elementary schools and Sunset Ridge Middle School until his retirement in 1994. George was a member of the East Hartford and Glastonbury Lions Clubs, and the East Hartford, Connecticut and National Education Associations. He was a member of St Dunstan Church, serving as a past Eucharistic Minister as well as the Director of Education and a teacher of CCD. Dunn and his wife Jennifer of Glastonbury, his grandchildren Gregory, Carol, Daniel, Kevin, Katie, Stephen, Rose, Mandy, and Jane Dunn, Jordan, Daniel and Bailey Edgren, two great grandchildren Claire and Rowan Dunn, and his brother David Dunn of Malden, MA.
