We were so shocked when we received your message. We just returned from Florida, and feel badly that we weren't there for the funeral. Dwight impacted everyone so positively weather through school or martial art or as a friend. He will be greatly missed.

Dr. Scherban was responsible for helping to save my life many years ago. I decided to write and thank him, only to find out that he passed away over the weekend. I can only hope that his family knows what a great man he was.

Dwight will be fondly remembered by his many CCSU students and the School of Business faculty. He contributed to the Marketing department for many years as both a professor and the Department Chair. I retired the same time he did--just three years ago. My thoughts and prayers are of Dwight and his beloved family.

Sensei Scherban, It grieves me deeply to think you're no longer with us. Thank you for the years we had together as friends and the honor of training with you. Your teaching is still part of my dojo to this day.

Dr Scherban was the first person I met when I moved to Connecticut almost thirty years ago. He brought many people into my life that I am truly grateful for, including his loving family. His teachings and mentoring will remain with me forever.I feel a deep sense of loss only lightened by the fact that he was there to change my life for the better. He will truly be missed.

Dear Mrs. Scherban, The faculty members in the Marketing Department at CCSU were shocked to learn the untimely departure of Dr. Dwight Scherban. We actually have no words to express how deeply sorry we are. Dr. Scherban served the department for a very long time and was well respected. Please accept our condolences and let us know if department can help in any way.

my deepest sympathies to the Scherban family, it is difficult to verbalize how much Dr. Scherban meant to all his friends and students, and the positive impact he had on so many lives. Dr. Scherban profoundly impacted so many facets of his students lives, not just in his martial art teachings, but in how he affected their total lives. As friend and student for almost 40 years, this is a loss beyond explanation, but I will take comfort in the remembrance of the many positive experiences and the great effect on my life that Dr. Scherban had. I am thankful for the time I had as his student, and all he shared with me, and all his students.
