Obituary of Judith H. Whitcomb
Judith Hutchins “Judy” Whitcomb, 81, a lifelong resident of Rocky Hill, CT passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, comfortably and peacefully in her home.
Judy was born on March 12, 1938 to Kenneth and Margaret Hutchins. She was raised in Wethersfield, CT and attended local schools. Nursing was her calling and after graduating from the University of Connecticut School of Nursing, Judy continued to use her gifts of knowledge, support, and kindness as a career for 30 years while proudly raising her family. Along with gardening, sewing and crewel crafts, her other passions included reading extensively and completing many jigsaw puzzles. Most recently, she enjoyed volunteering locally at the Library for the Blind and with the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford.
Judy is survived by her three children, Scott Whitcomb of Buena Vista, CO, Tracy Baker and her husband Bob of Hebron, CT, and Jennifer Whitcomb and her wife Carrie Kleinschmidt of Andover, CT; her two grandchildren, Kyle Baker and his wife Devan of Manchester, NH, and Aubrey Baker of Southington, CT.
In accordance with Judy’s wishes, services will be private for the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford at 30 Arbor Street, Hartford, CT 06106. For online condolences please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
