I don’t know if anyone will see this. I went to high school with Matt. We played baseball together and spent many weekend nights in Ft Lauderdale bars (it was the 80s, they were t as strict as they are now). Every 12/2 you’ll see the highlights of the famous Dolphins/Bears game played that day in 1985. Matt went to the game all decked out and he made the NFL Films highlight reel. I remember he actually came to school that day dressed exactly like he looked in the picture. He was a great guy. Loved playing ball with him (he was a very good player) and he was a blast to hang with. Hope if his family sees this, it’ll give them a smile and a laugh.

So incredibly sorry to read this. Coach Had my 2 boys on his team a few years ago, and he amazed my husband and I with how he coached this team. He had a way of treating each kid like they were special, like they were each a valuable member of the team. it was the first time my boys really, truly enjoyed practicing...not to mention their new found love of sun flower seeds. This man made a difference, and the ripple effect of his life will go on and on. May God bless you, and bring you peace. Leslie Johnson

Matt was a tremendous role model to me. He was my son Jay’s first soccer coach. Matt loved all the kids and even kept tabs on Jay over the years and always encouraged Jay when we ran into him. Matt was motivated by great love and my family benefited. He inspired me to become a youth coach. Matt was a great man.

I first met Matt through mutual friends living in West Hartford. Matt was one of the kindest, most genuine people you could meet. He has personally influenced my life with his exemplary character. Matt always gave back to his friends and community. He was part of the Big Brothers Group, an exceptional coach and always volunteered even when nobody wanted the job. My families condolences go out to Lisa and your family. I know there is a special place in heaven for people like Matt, I am sure he is looking down proud of how he has positively influenced all of our lives. We will always love you and miss you Matt.

I know Matt and Lisa since Kyle was 2 year old. I worked for them as a babysitter. Lovely family. Matt always talked about his family and kids so proudly. I met Matt at Dunkin Domuts in Glastonbury when I used work there, he was a customer. Every time we saw him walking into the store, we waited with his coffee ready for him. We will miss you. Condolences to Lisa and kids.

Our grandson Peter Sposito played on Matt's Little League Team.
The 2016 Team presented their coach with the following note at the end of their season with him:
We never got around to pick a name like “Tigers, Blue Jays or Cubs”; we are:
Coach March’s Team
June 12, 2016
We started the season with four losses and one win:
You taught us how to handle loss by staying positive.
We gathered around you at first with only our individual skills:
You taught us that we had to come together as a team.
We thought that we knew all we needed to know to play ball:
You demonstrated skills we had never seen before.
We, at first were afraid of working hard at practice.
You had fun at practice and so did we!
We thought that we couldn’t hit the best pitchers in the league.
You were right, when you told us that we could!
We only wanted to follow your lead.
You told each of us to lead by good example.
We thought that striking out was the end of the world.
You were proud of our “swing-and-miss” enthusiasm!
We all love to play Baseball.
You displayed a higher level of passion and love of the Game.
We, at the beginning, often did not hear what you were saying.
You taught us during the season, that we perform better when we listen.
You told us that we were the best.
We became the best we could be - because of YOU!
Thanks, Coach Matt

I have known Matt for all the years he has been at Anderson Meyer. We worked on many accounts together and I watched him grow in his career. We talked about baseball often and how much we loved playing and coaching it. Matt had a great attitude and his handling of his own health situation was an inspiration. It saddens me that he is no longer here, but I am a better person for knowing him and it appears that he has had a similar affect on many other-young and old. Being called "coach" is one of the highest honors a person can receive in their life. I'll bet he was a great "Coach".

My family and I had the pleasure of getting to know Matt through Glastonbury baseball. Matt coached my son during his little league district team years and he would always be so excited to go to Coach’s practices. During the summer, they would practice for hours and the kids just didn’t want the practices to end. Coach March would bring his boom box and play their favorite songs for the kids and they got a big kick out of it. :)
I had the privilege of coaching the 13U Glastonbury team with Matt this past summer. We spent the whole summer, together with fellow coaches, in the dugout playing throughout the state and bringing the team to Cooperstown, NY for a game. Matt was the ultimate coach, always teaching and encouraging them.
“A good coach can change the outcome of a game. A great coach can change a life.” (J. Wooden) Matt, thank you for not only changing my son’s life, but also for changing mine for the better. You’ll be missed so very much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Lisa and their children.
