Obituary of Miriam Truesdell

Miriam C. Truesdell, 87, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Truesdell, died Monday evening, November 12. She passed away peacefully in her South Glastonbury home surrounded by family following a long fight with cancer. Miriam was born in Verona NJ, the eldest daughter of the late Leon and Ruth (Walmsley) Colvin, and resided at 34 Lakewood Circle for nearly 50 years. Miriam graduated from Simmons College in Boston. She was a longstanding member of the South Congregational Church including participation in the choir and teaching Sunday School. Her community activities included volunteer work in the Glastonbury school system science department and driving for FISH. She was a member of the American Bell Association for 50 years following her father's interest and his presidency of that group. But most of all Mimi cherished her family, friends and garden She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey Truesdell of San Francisco, and two daughters, Nancy and Alan Laraway of The Villages, FL, and Linda and Chan Byun of Northborough, MA. Mimi delighted in each of her four grandchildren, Melissa Laraway, Matthew Laraway, and Kenneth and Julian Byun. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday Nov. 18 at 2:00pm in the South Congregational Church on Main Street in South Glastonbury. There will be no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
