Although it’s been some time since Katy has been gone, I just found this link and wanted to leave a note. Katy was one of my best friends in college. When we went to RPI together, we spent a fair amount of time participating in the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, but more than that we were a couple of doors down from each other in the dorm at school. When I see her smiling face on the picture that was posted here, it brings back so many memories of our time together at school. We had lots of long talks, sometimes sitting in the hallway or on the floor in her room. I did not get to see Katy much after college. But I always thought of her and loved her. I am so glad she got to spend time with Jim and her family for many years after contracting cancer. My deepest condolences to her whole family, especially Jim, Kerry, Brenna, and Jim.

We're so sorry to hear this news. Katy was always a shining light at RPI. And for the too few times we've been together since RPI, she was such a joy to be with. We hope you can find comfort and strength in the memories of your lives together. May her memory always be for a blessing.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Katy (and Jim) were both honored and beloved Brothers of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity at RPI and everyone was happy to see them when they were able to attend alumni functions. My deep condolences.

My dear friend....It has been an honor and a privilege to call you my friend. From babies to graduations, deployments, weddings and every memory in between has been a joy and will be cherished always. It isn't very often a friend enters your life and no matter how much time passes, seeing each other again is like no time has passed at all!
Until we meet again....Candle
