Obituary of Gloria Smith

Gloria (Wijangco) Smith, 48, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Michael Smith, died Tuesday November 6, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. Born March 27, 1964 in the Philippines, daughter of the late Peregrin and Veronica (Dela Cruz) Wijangco she had lived in Glastonbury for the past eight years. Gloria was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and was most recently an Actuary for Aetna Insurance Co. She was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Besides her husband, Gloria was the loving mother of William Michael Smith and Sydney Elizabeth Smith. She is also survived by 2 sisters Perpetua Wijangco of Glastonbury, Carmelita Wijangco of the Philippines, 2 brothers Emmanuel Wijangco of the Philippines, Leslie Wijangco of NJ, her mother-in-law Singhild Elizabeth Smith of Glastonbury and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday Nov. 10 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday Nov. 9 from 5-8pm.
