I am broken in an entirely new way... and, yet, newly motivated to live the kind of life Liz and I used to talk about, in bits and pieces accented by laughter and hugs, usually between patients at Meriden Family Practice, where we met.
I lost my mom just over a year ago so, to some degree, I understand and empathize with you all... but not when it comes to losing someone who, by all routine estimates, should have enjoyed many more creative, joyful, family-filled years "down here".
I am praying, fiercely, that "allayoooo" will be able to laugh and happily sigh, even through tears, as you share the vast treasures of memory that you've been given as some of the gifts of being able to live with and around and loved by Liz.
I would give almost anything to be able to travel north for her memorial service -- but the resources I need are not in my possession. I will, however, make sure to be with you in prayer, listening to worship music at my favorite North Carolina garden, when you are gathered in Connecticut.
May our God hug each of you from the inside out, in ways only you can feel, in every moment that you need to feel Liz. Sending love.
